Revalidations / Renewals

Stapleford Flight Centre offers efficient renewal options for both the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME/IR) and the Multi-Engine Piston Rating (MEP). Training and checks are carried out in simulators or aircraft such as the DA-42 or Piper Seneca, ensuring pilots stay current with a streamlined process and expert guidance.

Multi-Engine Instrument Rating Renewals / Revalidations

UK CAA & EASA regulations permit a pilot to revalidate an IR every other year in a simulator. Revalidation means that your rating has not expired. If your rating has expired than you must renew it – which means the test can only be undertaken in an aircraft.

We can offer training for IR renewals and revalidations in either our ALX Simulator featuring generic MEP models. Alternatively we have the DA42 simulator, and of course we have both aircraft types too should you need to use them

The test will then be carried out in either the simulator, or the corresponding aircraft. The IR renewal test lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Training is as required and the charges includes instructor time.
