Our Open Days are the perfect opportunity to experience the high standard of pilot training at Stapleford Flight Centre.

Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for a commercial aviation career, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the full training journey – from Private Pilot Licence (PPL) through to Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and beyond.

Open Day – Presentation Format

The presentation is delivered by Colin Dobney (Head of Training at Stapleford Flight Centre) and Shaun Eason (Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor at Stapleford Flight Centre).

This is followed by a question-and-answer session, a guided airfield tour, and refreshments in the clubhouse.



Part 1: Presentation – Colin Dobney & Shaun Eason

A comprehensive overview of pilot training at Stapleford Flight Centre, including:

Integrated & Modular Training
Private Pilot’s Licence
ATPL Theoretical Studies
Commercial Pilot Licence
Instrument Rating
Multi Engine Rating
APS MCC Course
UPRT (Upset Prevention & Recovery Training)



Part 2: Question & Answer Session

Following the presentation, there will be an open forum where you can ask any questions you may have about training, courses, or career pathways.



Part 3: Airfield Tour

A guided tour of Stapleford Flight Centre, including:

Training aircraft
Flight simulators
Classrooms
On-site student accommodation



Part 4: Refreshments

Finally, refreshments will be available in the clubhouse.

This is a great opportunity to meet our staff and current students, and to discuss any further questions you may have with Colin Dobney (Head of Training) and our flight instructors.

Arrival & Parking Information

The presentation will be held in the Maintenance Hangar at Stapleford Flight Centre.

The main car park is located to the left of the main entrance
Additional parking is available at the end of the main car park, behind the warehouse
After parking, please proceed on foot:
- Follow the entrance road round to the right
- Pass through the security barrier
- The Maintenance Hangar will be on the right-hand side

You will be required to register upon arrival before the presentation begins, where you will also have the opportunity to meet other prospective students.
