Simulators

A feature at Stapleford Flight Centre is our dedicated Simulator Building, featuring state-of-the-art ALSIM ALX Medium-Jet Flight Simulator and two AL42 simulators representing our DA42 fleet.

ALX

Designed for Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) courses and Jet Orientation Courses (JOC), the ALSIM ALX enhances our training offerings for aspiring airline pilots.

Head of Training Colin Dobney emphasizes the value of this simulator: “This new simulator enables Stapleford to offer enhanced MCC courses in a flight model that, while generic, incorporates many features of the Airbus A320.”

The ALSIM ALX is not only versatile for MCC and JOC training but also supports standalone JOC courses. This investment allows us to leverage the simulator for all facets of pilot training.

With light and medium jet models featuring Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS), it also provides a conventional instrument mode, allowing for effective training on our single-engine piston (SEP) and multi-engine piston (MEP) aircraft, including the Warriors, Arrows, and Senecas in our fleet.

Our flight simulators are an integral part of preparing the next generation of pilots, offering a realistic and comprehensive training experience in a controlled environment.

AL42

Instrument training is enhanced by our own FNPT2 AL42 simulators that are an excellent platform to learn basic and applied I/F skills required for the Instrument rating. The benefit comes from being able to stop, instruct and discuss items during a sortie plus a variety of conditions. Can be loaded to replicate system features or weather conditions.

The cost benefit is significant over aircraft rates, and we believe that you train for the instrument rating in simulator then you practice these new skills in the aircraft, ready for the final instrument rating test.
